  1. Yikes, on the chitras eating your legs. I know all about that, they seem to love me as well. I use Skin So Soft now instead of regular bug spray and it seems to work. I LOVE earplugs, they are a godsend. At our current house sit dogs bark all night long and ear plugs in conjunction with a pillow on the head truly helps.

      The chitras may have been one of the worst travel experiences I’ve had. They itched for weeks! I did all the wrong things, though: sitting over the water by the mangroves at dusk on days when it was drizzling out, without sufficient insect repellant. Silly traveler! 🙂 Thanks for the Skin So Soft tip! We are headed back to Panama in December (including a couple days in Bocas again), so I will *definitely* be trying that out!!!
